Karns is a special place. It offers a little country living with Knoxville and Oak Ridge just outside of its edges. Karns has a semi-rural landscape that will bring out the farmer in you! Karns is an unincorporated area located east of Oak Ridge, northwest of Hardin Valley, and north of Cedar Bluff. Although there are still large grassy fields, tractors and barns, Karns is beginning to see its share of development along the Oak Ridge Highway. There are now new strip malls, fast-food chains and many new businesses expanding in the area. New subdivisions are developing quickly, offering contemporary one- and two-story homes. For those with young families, Karns boasts public swimming pools, playgrounds, a youth center and a baseball field where the West Knox County Little League plays. This community offers a true “old-fashioned” feel with annual fairs, dances, singing contests and so much more. Karns is not to be overlooked!
